Almost Thanksgiving

It's not quite Thanksgiving yet, but we've been very thankful this week for all our blessings. My parents are up for a visit and we love having family on hand for the holiday and I'm excited about hosting. I'm extremely grateful for our warm house with central heat as the weather turns colder. Our fall has been crazy busy, but we've had quite a few activities an end. All the kids activities seem to be slowing down just in time for the holiday activities to be picking up.

Fall has ended, but Shawn is busy working on our new deck in his free time during the few hours he has each week that aren't taken up by construction projects at work and hunting.

Karolyn had a fabulous time at horse riding lessons this fall! She loves Classy, Alma and Liz. I can't believe how much she has improved during her fall lessons. If we lived on a farm, I'm pretty sure she would have a horse of her own.

We've been studying ancient Egypt and this week the kids used a whole box of plaster of paris to make an Egyptian house. This would have been a great outdoor project! They are still using working on it and I'm sure it will still take a few more weeks for them to add all the final details that they want.

We also decided to celebrate Kaylee's birthday a few days early since Nana and Papa were visiting. She was pretty excited about her new bike and was brave enough to go out in the 10 degree weather to ride it up and down the block once before we came back inside.

I can't believe she is going to be 7 next week. Where does the time go?

Kolsen also had speech class graduation and did a great job on his final speech. He is on the front row, right side.

Wipeout Papon Style

Welcome to Wipeout with the Papon girls!
We don't watch very much t.v. at our house, but some how they came up with this game that has been keeping them entertained for the past few days. So far no one has been hurt. Who needs toys?
