Celebrating The Season

Our lives are always busy and the Christmas season is no different! We have three December birthdays in our immediate family to celebrate, which means lots of cakes and gifts. Since we live so far from all of our families we always travel to Kansas during the Christmas season. We are so thankful homeschooling and Shawn's job are both flexible enough to allow our family to take three weeks off to visit both sets of grandparents!

Kaylee's Birthday is on December 5th, but she usually gets a cake or two in Kansas with her grandparents. I can't believe she is 8 years old.

Nana bought a Christmas train to decorate instead of a gingerbread house and these three girls outdid themselves with all the candy and frosting they put on. It turned out so cute.

We spend as much time as we can with the cousins! Luckily, our both our brothers' families live close to our parents so they are always able to drive over and spend time with us.

The girls and I were able to help Nana Yvette put together a few homemade Christmas gifts to give out. My girls LOVE helping in the kitchen!

These jars of bean soup turned out so cute!

One more picture of all the cousins together!

Kassidy's birthday is on the 22nd of December and Shawn's is on the 20th, so more cake, parties and presents!

After spending ten days at Shawn's parents, we traveled up to Hutch to spend time with my family. Here is a picture of the Cook cousins before the unwrapping began. Even though my brother just started a new job up in Edgerton, KS, they were able to come down for a week of fun! We didn't get quite as much outside play time as we would have liked, but we managed to wear everyone out each day.

Visiting the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center.

The cousins using the girls' new balance beam as a pillow.

We enjoyed every minute of our cold, Kansas vacation, but are happy to be back home settling back into our regular routine. I'm so thankful to God for sending his son to walk the earth because he loved us so much, two sets of loving grandparents and our brothers' families who are able to spend time with our family when we visit. We had way more fun than we could ever fit into one blog post.

Merry Christmas 2015 from our family to yours!
