Christensen Family Reunion 2015 (part 1)

I love my amazing, extended family! My mother's family gets together every three years. Looking back over the past 30+ years, I've only missed two reunions.

The whole crew. I think there were around 85 of us this year.

The beach. We spent hours down there. I'm so thankful we had such amazing weather all week long.

Growing up, one of my fondest memories was driving to MN and coming to Hiawatha Beach every three years.

The kids were excited to be spending a week with their cousins.

My dad, Bruce, Kassidy and Asher.

 My cousin Anne.

Kolsen paddle boarding around the lake.

Playing Pit out on the deck.

Noodle tag. Thanks Nana for all the games and noodles.

Kolsen skiing for the first time!

Shawn made it up on skis too!

We were only missing our cousin Mark. I don't know how I missed out on all the tall genes!

Shawn took out lots of people, young and old and kept us in fish all week.

The game of Spoons is a HUGE family tradition (we even have a traveling trophy with all the winner's names on it!) Karolyn won the 10 and under game!

Karolyn, Uncle Ken and the other family finalist for the spoons championship.

 Abelskivers for breakfast! YUM!

Cousins! These guys spent most of their time in the lake or indoor pool.

Shawn and Kaylee frying up some fish.

We've been spending a LOT of time at the ball park this summer!

and even when we aren't at a baseball field, we are still playing ball.

Strawberry Time

I've been busy harvesting chives and a little bit of lettuce from our garden, but not much else, so it was nice to get some strawberries from a local farm. We've already got them all washed and cut up. Tomorrow or maybe the day after all these yummy strawberries will be jam!
